Vintage Steam
Locomotive in Excursion Train This Saturday
Toronto - This Saturday,
12 Jun 2004, GO Transit is
partnering again, for the second year running, with Canadian Pacific Railway
(CPR) to run a unique sightseeing train in support of Breakfast for Learning.
The CPR Empress, a 1930 steam locomotive, will hook up to a GO Train and take
the public for a ride from Union Station to Milton and back.
What: Passengers can enjoy a ride as the CPR Empress steam locomotive
majestically leads a GO Train on a trip from Union Station to
Milton GO Station and back. The public can buy their tickets
for travel from Ticketmaster. Proceeds from ticket sales will
support Breakfast for Learning, Canada's only national, non-
profit organization solely dedicated to supporting child
nutrition programs across the country.
When: Saturday, 12 Jun 2004
Union Station: Boarding starts at 9:15 a.m.
Train leaves at 10 a.m. and returns at
2:30 p.m.
Milton GO Station: Train arrives around 11:45 a.m. and leaves
at 1:30 p.m. (there is no boarding at
Milton - people must start the trip at
Union Station)
Where: Toronto's Union Station, track 6B, VIA concourse, street level
entrance off Front St.
Milton GO Station, 780 Main St. E., Milton
Tickets: $30 per person, $100 family of four, on sale in advance at
Ticketmaster.
Last-minute cash-only purchases can also be made at Union
Station one hour before departure at the GO Transit booth at
the east end of the station's Great Hall.
