Man, 19, Killed by Train While Walking Tracks with Headphones On
Kamloops British Columbia - A
19-year-old man is dead after he apparently couldn't hear an oncoming train as he walked along railway tracks early
Thursday morning.
Police were called to the scene after the young man was hit by a westbound Canadian Pacific train in the 4700-block East
Trans Canada Highway just before 5 a.m.
"Investigators believe the male may have been listening to a music device", said RCMP in a release.
Police say they found a music device at the scene as well as ear-bud headphones inside the victim's hoodie.
Mounties think the man was walking alone at the time he was struck and killed.
The investigation continues, with assistance from CP police and the coroner.
