Now there were 66 tickets left for the Banff to Field train, and 115 available on the Field to Banff train, said Kathryn Cameron, who
sits on Field's community council.
Parks Canada, Canadian Pacific, the Friends of Yoho, Field Community Council, the Village of Field, and the Burgess Shale Geoscience
Foundation are planning a full day of centennial celebrations for 5 Sep 2009.
Alex Kolesch, a Parks Canada manager in Yoho who oversees the Burgess Shale, said the festivities will include a historical walking
tour of Field, entertainment, and birthday cake, all in the small town.
There's a beer garden, and an evening barbecue, and a dance put on by the Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation.
Parks Canada also hopes to unveil a new interactive Burgess Shale fossil exhibit that day at the Visitor Centre in Field.
