Drunk-Driving Charges Laid After Train Collision
Winnipeg Manitoba - Police have charged a
49-year-old woman with drunk driving after her vehicle collided with a train Tuesday evening.
The woman was driving eastbound on Logan Avenue near Weston Street at about 7 p.m. Tuesday when she failed to stop at a railway
crossing that had its warning signals and lights activated, police said Wednesday.
A northbound train struck the passenger side of her car, pushing the vehicle about 45 metres.
The woman was taken to hospital, whe she was treated and released.
The woman is now charged with impaired driving - motor vehicle, and drive over .08. She was released on an appearance notice, said
police. Her name was not released.
