Locomotive Number 5, the Alan Meaden, rests in Maespoeth Yard. It is a four-wheel Motor Rail Simplex built in 1965 and named for the late founder of the Corris Railway Society. It has no air braking equipment and is too light for passenger service so it's used on works trains or for shunting.
